It’s been a year since we started this crazy journey. We’re nearing 400 martians, and I’m over the moon! I was invited to become a Twitch Affiliate, meaning I have an option to now begin to earn while I stream, which is pretty darn cool! Lots of alien love to y’all for coming by, watching my streams, hosting me, chatting with me, listening to me rage when things were nuts, and following this loco rocket into outer space. This is only the beginning. Means I’ll need to work that much harder to keep your viewership, and expand our base. Let’s do it!
This is my first time writing on my blog about something like this. Friends of mine know I’m really not a fan of things like Kickstarters, and similar funding sources for entertainment, but a project has come along that really caught my attention, and so I figured I’d bring the topic up here to one eat a little bit of crow, because I said I’d never back a kickstarter, and to hype up this film project that I think is deserving of attention and funding.
I’m Having an Affair With My Wife! is the name of a screenplay written by Jen Finelli! Here’s the basics of what this rom-com is about directly from the film’s site, http://mysweetaffair.com/:
Lashonda‘s a driven, successful businesswoman
with a passion for Korean food (and Korean men);
Sung-min‘s a laid-back artist who loves good music
as much as he loves to kick back with a comic book.
“When their marriage goes sour,
they both seek out affairs online…
and accidentally end up secretly dating each other.
I’m Having an Affair With My Wife! is on course to be the the first US romantic comedy in 17 years to feature a couple played by a black female and a male of Eastern Asian descent.
I have the awesome distinction of being the first backer Jen and her producing partner, Samantha Aiken, had for the film and that was well before their official fundraising campaign kicked off on April 1st. So technically, I don’t have to eat said crow, because I gave money to this project without being prompted by a campaign because that’s how much I believe in it! All kidding aside, Jen and Sam are two very cool and talented ladies. I’m a fan, and also a fan of the idea of an interracial married couple being on screen and showing a more authentic side of life within a marriage. Something I think is very underrepresented in the Romantic Comedy genre.
I highly recommend checking out the sites for I’m Having an Affair With My Wife!, which has already found their leading actors, and consider donating to their Seed and Spark campaign. Additional links here:

Everyone has opinions, right? I’m no exception, so when I was given the opportunity to share some of my opinions on gaming with Lynn from the YouTube channel, Ipod1Reviewer, I didn’t hesitate to say yes!
I was really nervous to be on camera, but she made it really comfortable and easy to get through. Lynn asked me 10 questions about various aspects of gaming. I didn’t realize how weird my camera position was, because it didn’t look that way during the preview on my end. So it’s a little dark and gives us a headshot.
I’m looking forward to doing more chat style videos like this in the future. Do check out Lynn’s channel, show some love on the video, comment, and subscribe as the spirit moves you.
Doodles I do during quiet periods.
Reaching up when the negativity tries to pull me down. Swirling in the black of my own self-doubt.
On Saturday, November 5th, I will be doing a 24 hour charity Twitch stream to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ (Specifically Phoenix Children’s Hospital) through the Extra Life program. My goal is to raise $300 (I’m currently halfway to this goal already, and have put up some of my own money) before game day. Donations are tax-deductible (who doesn’t like that! hehe). Please consider giving at this link right here: http://www.extra-life.org/participant/martiankat or if you want to just hang out and give some cheering support, come out and join me on my Twitch channel at: twitch.tv/martiankat

Stifled is a horror game whose visuals are based on sound. In-game sound, as well as the sounds of the player. In this video, I’m presenting my stream of the Gattai Games demo that has just been greenlit by the Steam community, and will also be available on console.
The atmosphere was dark and creepy. Freaked me out a couple of times playing just this short demo. It isn’t often I’m actually scared while playing a game, so for that this game is Kat Approved!
On Instagram, I thought it would be interesting to give myself a definition. “manicdistress” was a screen name I created for myself years ago, and thought for my first go at defining me, that this was the word that best described me right now. The original post on what will become my writing Instagram account is linked below too. Feel free to follow me there.
Me at my computer.
manicdistress man•ic (adj)- showing wild and apparently deranged excitement and energy. // dis•tress (n)- extreme anxiety, sorrow, or pain.
Two sides of the same person. I’ve spent years trying to understand just how the contradictions that make up my person are able to coexist, somewhat peacefully. Then I recognized that they aren’t mutually exclusive. Both sides make me unique and gives me insight into the mundane and the mad. I enjoy the constant internal battle. It’s why I try to I look to connect with other souls that are on similar journeys. Maybe we can guide each other along the way. – Kat
How would you define yourself? I’d love to see what you all come up with. Share it with me here in the comments, or on Instagram by tagging me. You can also tweet me, @twistedmuses.
Well Muses, I have been busy albeit not on here over the past few months. I’ve started combining my love of commentary, and video games into doing Twitch streaming, and some YouTube “Let’s Play” videos. I’ve been having a lot of fun with that. For those interested, links are at the end of this post.
As for writing, I haven’t given up on that, I have started work on a novela. I need to work on getting that transferred from notebook (I prefer to write with pen and paper first) to digital copy. I’ll see about posting some of that when I get that transferred. Currently it’s a Gothic Romance, but I’m thinking of shifting it into modern day.
That’s all I have for now. You can find me in all of these places:
Twitter | Twitch | YouTube | Steam
I write to escape the everyday madness that is the mundane world. I also write to make sense of it. It’s cathartic for me to put some of my inner most thoughts on the page.
On the flipside, it’s just fun! Creating another person on the page and making them feel real is another reason I write. When I have readers tell me that they feel my characters are real people based on the way that I write them, it makes me happier than I can really describe. That’s why I write.
Why do you write?
